Jeff is taking advantage of the exposure and challenges within the JBS Trainee Program to develop his career.
Why did you apply to the JBS Trainee Program?
I applied because the company emphasizes the character of its people over the credentials on their resume. Everything about JBS is anchored in its values of determination, simplicity, availability, humility, sincerity, discipline, and ownership. While JBS is a huge international organization, the relationships you develop through the Trainee Program make it feel like a tight-knit community.
Tell us a little more about how the program is structured.
The JBS Trainee Program is an eighteen-month rotational program that exposes you to different parts of the business. As a Trainee, I was empowered to design my own experience according to my interests and career aspirations. Trainees go through two to three rotations, get hands-on experience in day-to-day operations, and receive mentorship from experienced professionals.
What challenges did you experience during the program?
The program challenged me to take control of myown learning and career growth. JBS provided me with a framework and opportunities, but ultimately, I was responsible to select projects to take on and make the most out of the experience. In turn, I developed a new understanding and appreciation for the complexities of the business. We have over one-hundred facilities that provide food for over four-million families worldwide. The sheer quantity that we produce means that one small operational error can cost millions of dollars. While it can be challenging, this standard of excellence and attention to detail sets us apart.
What would you want to share to future talent about the JBS Trainee Program experience?
JBS’ Trainee Program is an incredible opportunity for anyone who wants to work at a world-leading organization, and believes that mentorship and development are important.
