Tell us about your journey to Amplifon.
I studied marketing and management and upon graduation I joined Target. While my experience there was invaluable, my heart was still in marketing. One of my mentors suggested Miracle-Ear, a franchise hearing aid retailer part of the Amplifon Group. At the time, I knew very little about hearing aids or the industry, but took a leap of faith and joined its marketing division.
How does Amplifon provide opportunities for you to grow within your career?
Since I joined Amplifon in the U.S. in 2011, the management team both locally and at corporate level (in Milan, Italy) have supported me in defining who I want to become as a professional. However, it’s been up to me to pioneer and communicate my interests and needs for development. My role in the UK speaks to this. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to attend the Green Compass program, one Amplifon development program that includes two weeks of training and workshops in Milan and the UK. Not only did I get to know my peers in Spain, India, and New Zealand, but just six months later, I was invited to relocate to England to help lead our B2C marketing initiatives. I had never lived abroad before, but I wanted to get outside of my comfort zone and took the opportunity. At Amplifon, you’re truly part of a growing, global organization.
How does your job contribute to a larger purpose?
I work passionately with my team to come up with the right blend of media and messages that will empower individuals to do something about their hearing. This means motivating people who can’t hear their grandchildren anymore, or professionals who withdraw from their career because they can’t hear properly in meetings at work. By working for Amplifon you can play a part in giving back those personal life moments to people.
